ALABAMA Votes, Candidates Use Durden Billboards

March 13, 2012 is the congressional primary election. Who are you voting for? Eleven running candidates voted for Durden when they decided how to promote their campaign. We had the privilege of doing Eight Rotary Poster designs throughout the area, a bulletin in Dale County, & two digital billboards on our Durden Digital Network, which has 16 locations! Let’s meet the candidates who voted for us… Stuart K. Smith is an Ozark Attorney and Republican Candidate for the office of Circuit Judge, Place 1, within the 33rd Judicial Circuit, which serves Dale and Geneva Counties. Mr. Smith helped his campaign by using Durden’s Rotary posters. For past 6 years, Bill Filmore has been Chief Assistant District Attorney for Dale/Geneva Counties. Filmore handles the prosecution of major felony jury trials (usually sexual assaults and murder). Attorney Filmore also chose to promote his campaign with Durden’s Rotary Posters in Dale & Geneva counties. Ron Snell believes his qualifications and experiences, especially having taught in every Geneva County school cluster, make him the best candidate to advance all Geneva County schools as the Geneva County Superintendent. Mr. Snell chose to use rotary posters along with his other campaign elements. Fred Hamic seeks re-election to Geneva County Commission chairman/probate judge. Hamic says that in his first term he helped to get Geneva County on firm financial footing, and that the county currently owes nothing against its $10 million debt limit. He came to Durden for his outdoor advertising of his re-election campaign. Rotary Posters in Geneva County display his artwork created by our Art Department. Starla Mathews has served the citizens of Houston County as Revenue Commissioner for the past twelve years. It is this experience that leads her to seek the office of probate judge in Houston County, Alabama. Starla chose to promote her campaign on Durden’s Digital Network. Durden has a total of 17 locations when it comes to advertising digitally. Patrick Davenport believes it is important to have an attorney as Probate Judge. He graduated from UAB with a bachelor’s degree in history and received his law degree from Cumberland School of law at Samford University. Davenport said his opportunity to serve as special probate judge in the absence of Houston County Probate Judge Luke Cooley has given him a unique qualification to hold the office. Mike Stell’s mission is  to bring Barbour Counties Probate Judge’s office into the 21 Century. Snell wants to stop the long lines and make the office more “Customer Service Friendly.” Mr. Stell is promoting his campaign with Durden’s Rotary Poster in Barbour County. Steve Blair has operated a law firm for 25 years and served as Coffee County district judge for eight years. He was a 12th Judicial Circuit judge for two years and Enterprise’s municipal judge for the past six years. Mr. Blair is using Durden’s Digital Network in Enterprise to help promote his campaign to be Coffee County Probate Judge. Sharon Ard Michalic has 26 years working with Dale County. Her work experience began with the Tax Assessor and Tax Collector Offices before transferring to the Probate Office in 1994. She has had the privilege of working for two past probate judges. Now she is running for Probate Judge herself, and utilized Durden’s Rotary Poster to help her attain that spot. Woodrow (Woody) Hilboldt said his long work history in community-based business and his degree in business administration would be invaluable resources in carrying out the probate judge’s duties, which include maintaining vital public records, protecting public resources, and additional administrative duties associated with the “business” side of the office. He chose Durden to help promote his campaign with our Print Rotary Posters. Gerald Harden has served the citizens of Dale County politically for over 30 years and wishes to continue to do so. Harden believes he has the experience and the leadership capability in order to continue to make Dale County a better place today and for future generations. He is utilizing Durden’s Print Posters to campaign for his election into the Dale County Commission Chairperson Office. New Leadership and New Ideas for the Future of Barbour County is Jason Tyre’s 2012 Campaign Slogan. Over the last sixteen years, Jason has worked diligently through the Court System to provide alternative programs for substance abuse offenders to make them more productive citizens. He chose the Eufaula Digital Light House to further his campaign through outdoor media and advertising. Area businessman and community leader, Mark Blankenship announced his candidacy for Chairman of the Dale County Commission. Blankenship said he wants to put his experience, work ethic, and aggressive leadership to work for Dale County. Blankenship, a licensed residential contractor and developer, currently serves as President pro-tem of the Ozark City Council, serves as a member of the Ozark Technology board, and serves on the CB&T bank board of directors.  Mr. Blankenship chose to promote his campaign with a Durden Bulletin In Dale County. Outdoor Advertising Leads to Client Increase for an Enterprise Health Clinic

hillside-family-practiceHillside Family Practice, one of Durden Outdoors more recent clients, has seen a  significant increase in their patient numbers since using a combination of Rotary Poster Billboards along with our Enterprise Digital Network.
“From August to November our numbers have increased. The majority of our new patients say they have seen the billboards with ‘Walk-ins Welcome’ and ‘Tired of waiting?” says Teresa with Hillside Family Practice of Enterprise.
HFP started from the ground up with our Durden Creative Team designing their outdoor look. The art department put in many hours designing not only a campaign but Hillsides Current Logo. Dr. David Ryan was concerned with making sure the Enterprise drivers would know that it was a health clinic, they took walk-ins, and were quick to get you into see them. After many meetings and creative visions an outdoor campaign was settled on.
“Most patients expressed they were tired of waiting to see their doctor somewhere else, and the billboard prompted them to switch to Dr. Ryan,” indicates Teresa
This campaign was a great success for Dr Ryan, Hillside Family Practice, and the Durden Outdoor Team. We pride ourselves in serving our client in the best way possible. We are glad that we can continue with some form of the current message for Dr Ryan since it’s been working. Hillside is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm (closed for lunch 12-1pm). They accept all insurances except Tricare Prime and Medicaid Patient 1st. You can reach them at 334-475-2067 or visit them on 1008 Boll Weevil Circle Suite B, Enterprise, Alabama. ALDOT Traffic Count in Alabama

SEE FREE ALDOT MAP WITH TRAFFIC COUNT CLICK HERE

What is the traffic count in front of your business or where you have your outdoor advertising placed? Location, location, location is something I have heard from business owners and other advertisers countless times over the years when referring to the potential for business success. Often times getting the buying decision from a potential customer is all about being in the right place at the right time. Whether it is getting the impulse buy in a retail environment or by influencing a purchasing decision through effective ad placement. With this said location refers to more than your business’s physical location it also implies having the best possible locations for your marketing message. Determining your message and location to display it effectively is an important choice for a successful marketing campaign. Educating yourself on traffic count in your target market will make choosing your overall campaign strategy easier. Keep in mind there is more to it than picking the roads with the highest traffic count.  In some cases you may want to consider captive audiences at traffic lights or perhaps congested areas. Outdoor advertising is the only traditional marketing platform to remain unchanged with advances in technology. Technology has changed the way we all read magazines for current information, watch television, read the news, and search for local businesses. For instance Smart Phones are effecting more than one might think. A study was recently done looking at smart phone usage as people watch tv. More often than not those with smart phones are distracted during commercials with other activities like Facebook, checking email, or surfing the web than watching commercials. This is just one example how technology has effected marketing. If you would like to read more on this subject you CLICK HERE. As long as humans are driving vehicles to and from their destination billboard advertising will remain strong. Distractions from listening to music on an iPod or talking on the phone do little to distract to marketing messages lining the sides busy streets around the world. Simply put, you can not tune out outdoor advertising. Higher traffic count areas yield higher returns based on the average number of people viewing the display. Traffic count is not super top secret information reserved for big business or people in the know. In Alabama traffic count information is gathered and published by ALDOT. The information is found online. You can look at traffic patterns in your area to determine the best possible place to reach potential clients. Billboard location is no different than prime real estate. The higher the traffic count and visibility the higher the cost will be. So be sure to understand what suits your needs and potential for gaining market share. Dothan, Ozark, Enterprise, Troy, and Eufuala are all key markets within Durden Outdoor’s network of displays. All of these areas have seen traffic count increases over the past 5 years. The traffic count increases range from 5% – 25% depending on the market, new construction, and other factors. Be sure to visit ALDOT by clicking the banner ad below.  You can research traffic count information for free.
