GOD SPEAKS BILLBOARDS SHOW UP ON DURDEN DIGITAL NETWORK

Interruption………….. An interruption is typically viewed as an unwelcome pause on progress. However, last week Durden Outdoor launched a Digital Campaign directed at doing just that. In light of months of societal unrest, we felt as if the Wiregrass needed an interruption. These “Signs from God” serve as a ray of hope designed to focus hurried, rush-hour thoughts on God in a creative and thought provoking way. The #FAMOUS MAKERS decided the best platform for this message was the Durden Digital Network. It is the largest digital billboard network in Southeast Alabama with 28+ boards. These boards reach over ONE MILLION+ cars daily in Dothan, Ozark, Enterprise, Eufaula, and Troy. Durden’s “Signs from God” campaign is specifically designed to serve as a positive interruption from the daily commute through entertaining and inspiring content. FinalCollage

Slocomb Tomato Festival THIS WEEKEND

STF2Sporting events and festivals have led to a spike in travel and spending in the Wiregrass area. According to the Alabama Tourism Department’s Economic Impact 2015, travelers spent an estimated $263.7 million in Houston County, $55.3 million in Coffee County, $39.3 million in Dale County, $3.2 million in Geneva County and $3 million in Henry County. The numbers through out the state show more than 25 million people traveled in Alabama last year alone. With the increase in the number of vehicles on the road, comes an increase in the number of views on billboards. One of our local homegrown events, the Slocomb Tomato Festival, utilizes a mix of digital and rotary billboards to announce their event annually. A clean and consistent message is key. Their billboards can be seen on Hwy 231 South and Hwy 52 West in Dothan targeting locals and beach traffic. They also expanded into the Enterprise market to attract even more Coffee County residents to the festival this year. If you are in the Wiregrass this weekend, be sure to stop by the Slocomb Tomato Festival on Friday and Saturday to check out the karaoke contest, car show, The Kentucky Headhunters, and of course sample one of those juicy Slocomb tomatoes. The team at Durden Outdoor can help you reach over one million cars daily. Contact our sales team today about making your business or event FAMOUS in the Wiregrass.

‘Tis the Season for Giving

TEAM Durden has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We are extremely blessed with great customers and wonderful co-workers that we all consider family. This year, we chose the Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank’s “Stuff the Semi” food drive as a public service project. They will be collecting non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys, and monetary donations today at Southside Wal-Mart until 6:00 PM to feed families this holiday season. Whether it be a food drive, paying someone’s utility bill, or simply a kind gesture of “how can I help?” This Thanksgiving, we encourage you to give back to your community and bless someone who may be going through a tough time. “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Stuff the Semi

Shanna Peoples Missing from Geneva, AL

shannapeoples-missingThe Geneva Police Department, Geneva County Sheriff’s Department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are conducting an active investigation into the disappearance of Shanna Genelle Peoples. As you will remember Shanna went missing on Thursday, September 8, 2011, around 3:30 pm.  Shanna was last seen in the area of 303 North Morris Street, in Geneva, Alabama.  Although it is unclear of the clothing that Shanna was wearing, it is believed that she was wearing blue denim Capri pants and a green tank top.  Shanna has a limited mental capacity, and investigators are not sure if she was the victim of an accident or if she was harmed by someone. Shanna was known to walk and ride her bicycle in the community.  She loved McDonalds and soft drinks and would often ride or walk to either Magnolia Market located on Magnolia Avenue in Geneva or C & M Grocery located on Maple Avenue in Geneva. Geneva is a cohesive and caring community and we know that everyone wants to bring Shanna home.  She is a beloved member of this community and we are asking the citizens of Geneva and the surrounding communities to join us in the effort to bring Shanna home.  Investigators believe that success in this case will come from a joint effort between the citizens in the community and the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.  Investigators would also like to thank the public for the information they have provide thus far, and encourage them to continue providing leads and information.  Investigators in the case believe that they are individuals who have information regarding Shanna’s disappearance, and these individuals are strongly encouraged to report that information no matter how small they believe it is.  Please allow the investigators to determine how important or relevant the information may be. This case has been, is, and will remain a priority for local, county, state, and federal law enforcement.  The investigators remain hopeful for a successful conclusion.
