Shop Local, Shop Headland

headlandchamber_shoplocal_durden_outdoorRhonda Harrison, executive director of the Headland Chamber of Commerce, knows that there is more to the City of Headland than what meets the eye. Mrs. Harrison reached out to Durden Outdoor as Headland was in need of a way to promote community events and new businesses that was affordable and consistent. Although initially hesitant, the board of directors approved to give billboards a try and advertise with Durden Outdoor. After a few strategic conversations, it was determined that our Rotary Poster program was exactly what the Headland Chamber of Commerce needed. Every four weeks, they rotate to a new billboard among a group of approved locations. This allows them to change their message and promotion monthly while keeping a strong presence on Hwy 431 North. Mrs. Harrison credits their billboards with keeping Headland top of mind in a large audience outside of the city limits and by linking Headland into the community of Dothan. She commended the Durden Creative Department stating “they keep our ads simple yet attractive. Durden’s tactics are strategic and beneficial. The relationship that the Headland Chamber of Commerce and Durden Outdoor have built is strong and one that will last.” If you would like to become FAMOUS, please give us a call today at 334-678-2215 or you may email us at sales@durdenoutdoor.com.

Slocomb Tomato Festival THIS WEEKEND

STF2Sporting events and festivals have led to a spike in travel and spending in the Wiregrass area. According to the Alabama Tourism Department’s Economic Impact 2015, travelers spent an estimated $263.7 million in Houston County, $55.3 million in Coffee County, $39.3 million in Dale County, $3.2 million in Geneva County and $3 million in Henry County. The numbers through out the state show more than 25 million people traveled in Alabama last year alone. With the increase in the number of vehicles on the road, comes an increase in the number of views on billboards. One of our local homegrown events, the Slocomb Tomato Festival, utilizes a mix of digital and rotary billboards to announce their event annually. A clean and consistent message is key. Their billboards can be seen on Hwy 231 South and Hwy 52 West in Dothan targeting locals and beach traffic. They also expanded into the Enterprise market to attract even more Coffee County residents to the festival this year. If you are in the Wiregrass this weekend, be sure to stop by the Slocomb Tomato Festival on Friday and Saturday to check out the karaoke contest, car show, The Kentucky Headhunters, and of course sample one of those juicy Slocomb tomatoes. The team at Durden Outdoor can help you reach over one million cars daily. Contact our sales team today about making your business or event FAMOUS in the Wiregrass.

‘Tis the Season for Giving

TEAM Durden has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We are extremely blessed with great customers and wonderful co-workers that we all consider family. This year, we chose the Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank’s “Stuff the Semi” food drive as a public service project. They will be collecting non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys, and monetary donations today at Southside Wal-Mart until 6:00 PM to feed families this holiday season. Whether it be a food drive, paying someone’s utility bill, or simply a kind gesture of “how can I help?” This Thanksgiving, we encourage you to give back to your community and bless someone who may be going through a tough time. “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Stuff the Semi
