Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc. is excited to partner with Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam for the 5th straight year, bringing thousands of people to the beautiful beaches of Panama City Beach, FL. Festivalgoers travel from all across the United States not only for the country music but for the views of the most gorgeous beaches along the gulf coast as well. The three-day country music festival is scheduled for Labor Day weekend, September 1st thru 3rd this year.

Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam utilized a mix of 4-Week Rotary Posters and the Durden Digital Network to saturate our ten county service area to include Dothan, Troy, Eufaula, Ozark, Geneva and Enterprise markets to name a few. They were able to run top of the mind awareness ads to promote the festival early on in the campaign. This allowed them to pre-sale tickets and boost the hype for one of the largest country music festivals in the south. Once all artists were secured, they started running ads across both platforms announcing the stellar lineup for the festival. Shanna Peoples Missing from Geneva, AL

shannapeoples-missingThe Geneva Police Department, Geneva County Sheriff’s Department, the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are conducting an active investigation into the disappearance of Shanna Genelle Peoples. As you will remember Shanna went missing on Thursday, September 8, 2011, around 3:30 pm.  Shanna was last seen in the area of 303 North Morris Street, in Geneva, Alabama.  Although it is unclear of the clothing that Shanna was wearing, it is believed that she was wearing blue denim Capri pants and a green tank top.  Shanna has a limited mental capacity, and investigators are not sure if she was the victim of an accident or if she was harmed by someone. Shanna was known to walk and ride her bicycle in the community.  She loved McDonalds and soft drinks and would often ride or walk to either Magnolia Market located on Magnolia Avenue in Geneva or C & M Grocery located on Maple Avenue in Geneva. Geneva is a cohesive and caring community and we know that everyone wants to bring Shanna home.  She is a beloved member of this community and we are asking the citizens of Geneva and the surrounding communities to join us in the effort to bring Shanna home.  Investigators believe that success in this case will come from a joint effort between the citizens in the community and the law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.  Investigators would also like to thank the public for the information they have provide thus far, and encourage them to continue providing leads and information.  Investigators in the case believe that they are individuals who have information regarding Shanna’s disappearance, and these individuals are strongly encouraged to report that information no matter how small they believe it is.  Please allow the investigators to determine how important or relevant the information may be. This case has been, is, and will remain a priority for local, county, state, and federal law enforcement.  The investigators remain hopeful for a successful conclusion.

We have talked a lot about traffic counts and how they can effect your marketing campaign. While traffic counts are very important they are NOT the only thing to pay attention to when working out the details of your marketing campaign.  High traffic counts in a low income area of town might not be the best location versus an area of lower traffic count but higher average income. In other words would you rather have your message in front of more with little disposable income or in front of a few less people with more money to spend?  The answer is simple, it is easier to get potential clients to spend money if they have more of it to spend. Keep in mind this approach assumes your product and/or service appeals to all socioeconomic backgrounds.

Dothan, Alabama is a hub for smaller outlying towns in multiple counties.  Dothan is located in Houston County.  Houston County has an average income of $38,751. When looking at the average earnings statewide Houston County falls roughly in the middle of the ranking.  We recommend taking a good look at surrounding cities and counties. Dale county has a higher median household income at $41,279. Dale County residents regularly travel to other markets in the area to make purchases. With this information and traffic counts in the area you can make a better informed decision about advertising.  Are you currently directing any of your marketing messages to Dale County?
