Durden Outdoor Installs Alabama’s Largest 3D Nose

The #FamousMakers at Durden Outdoor located in Southeast Alabama have always contended to be professional paraphrasers.  We have a general rule to keep a headline shorter than 7 words as we only have 8-10 seconds to get our point across.  While working on a new 2016-17 creative theme for one of our favorite clients, we achieved this goal…….plus we were able to add one new creative element on a billboard to push it over the top! CLICK TO SEE THE 3D NOSE VIDEO:  https://youtu.be/GD9ocJnELrM bryanpharmeditedpic Bryan Pharmacy is a locally operated pharmacy with 3 locations in Enterprise and Elba, Alabama.  Check them out at http://www.bryanpharmacy.com/ Owner Brett Bryan knows that to compete against the big chains, he has to offer customers a better experience than the “BIG CHAINS” and be creative with his marketing budget.
“Bryan Pharmacy is proud to claim the fastest prescription turnaround matched with the friendliest customer service in the Coffee County area. This is where the headline“Sniffl’n around for a faster pharm” originated from” says Durden Outdoor’s creative director Bill Durden.  “This client is always willing to push the envelope with their creative as they know it works.”  The #FamousMakers were also able to incorporate the nose element into the rest of the FAST theme by using the following headlines:
Because waiting STINKS.
Because big chains STINK.
Because you asked for 7 days. Because we help your momma and ’em.

“A Pleasant Surprise for Enterprise” Beautiful Billboard Promotes Downtown Boutique

serendipitybulletin Serendipity means a pleasant surprise or the luck of finding something you weren’t looking for. Serendipity by Kei Boutique means finding that one piece of clothing you weren’t even looking for, but is just the perfect thing to make your wardrobe. When Serendipity by Kei contacted Durden Outdoor to make them famous, we were beyond ecstatic to help promote their eclectic selection. We started with a conversation with Serendipity by Kei’s owner, Keisha, about her vision for her boutique, as well as their advertising goals. This was a very enlightening and inspiring step, as her energy was highly contagious and got our creative team motivated to design the best board we could. We then started brainstorming and sketching concept art, which we would send over to Keisha to discuss and review; this honed in and refined the message, as well as the design. After the concept was approved, we were able to set up a wonderful photo shoot with our photographer partner Mark Broadway, and Serendipity’s delightful model, Mary Holland. A fashion shoot like this one was great to be a part of, as we were open to have fun and show off all the great items Serendipity by Kei has to offer. Keisha’s passion for her store, her customers, her fashion, and her vision were major inspirations for our design. She worked with us every step of the way, sharing her wisdom about her store and her excitement about our concepts, designs, and final product. Keisha put her feelings about the final design best in our last conversation, with an excited “Whoopie!” To find out more about Serendipity by Kei, check out their Facebook Page.  If you would like to be made FAMOUS, contact our sales department at sales@durdenoutdoor.com or call 334-792-5056 to speak with one of our creative image consultants.

ICY BILLBOARD CATCHES MAJOR ATTENTION

In the South Alabama heat, it’s surprising to see icicles hanging from a billboard. Well here on the corner of Highway 84 West and Ross Clark Circle in Dothan you can see just that. This refreshingly cool addition was created for our client, Ashley Enfinger, for their promotion of Sears Hometown Store and Glacial Cryogenics. Ashley put it best when he said, “The billboard is great, and exactly what we needed to let people know about our businesses. Durden Outdoor is always coming up with a creative way to make us look good.” Our design team had quite a job on their hands to make a design that brought attention to both Sears and Glacial Cryogenics, and gave directions to both locations. For a bit of insider information, designers always say, “Less is more in outdoor.” Fortunately for the designers and the client, everyone was in agreement that we needed to stick with this philosophy and keep the design bold and simple, with just enough embellishment to make everything POP! That is where the icicles came in, deep from our team’s creative subconscious, likely wishing for a chilly reprieve from the near 100 degree weather this summer. These icicle additions add a cool feature (pun intended) to the billboard, drawing attention as they sway in the breeze. Be sure to check out Sears (http://www.searsoutlet.com/Dothan/d/store.jsp?store=4242#/) and Glacial Cryogenics (http://glacialcryo.com/) while you are in Dothan to see how cool they really are! GOD SPEAKS BILLBOARDS SHOW UP ON DURDEN DIGITAL NETWORK

Interruption………….. An interruption is typically viewed as an unwelcome pause on progress. However, last week Durden Outdoor launched a Digital Campaign directed at doing just that. In light of months of societal unrest, we felt as if the Wiregrass needed an interruption. These “Signs from God” serve as a ray of hope designed to focus hurried, rush-hour thoughts on God in a creative and thought provoking way. The #FAMOUS MAKERS decided the best platform for this message was the Durden Digital Network. It is the largest digital billboard network in Southeast Alabama with 28+ boards. These boards reach over ONE MILLION+ cars daily in Dothan, Ozark, Enterprise, Eufaula, and Troy. Durden’s “Signs from God” campaign is specifically designed to serve as a positive interruption from the daily commute through entertaining and inspiring content. FinalCollage

Billboards Add Huge Increase To Dothan Hotel’s Bottom Line

In today’s world, many people pre-book their hotel rooms online for convenience.
However, there is still a large percentage who don’t.  The largest hotel in Dothan, AL decided to use billboards to entice this “last minute” group of travelers.  “Most hoteliers just use billboards for directionals.  We wanted to put ours to the test” says Hannah Shiver, GM of the Clarion Inn.
“We decided to promote our new LIKE US OR STAY FREE promotion & we’ve received a tremendous response. The hotel staff keeps track of customers who mention these billboards and have given them credit for $200,000+ worth of business over the past few years. Durden Outdoor not only helped to increase our bottom line, but made us FAMOUS in the process!!” says Hannah.

Slocomb Tomato Festival THIS WEEKEND

STF2Sporting events and festivals have led to a spike in travel and spending in the Wiregrass area. According to the Alabama Tourism Department’s Economic Impact 2015, travelers spent an estimated $263.7 million in Houston County, $55.3 million in Coffee County, $39.3 million in Dale County, $3.2 million in Geneva County and $3 million in Henry County. The numbers through out the state show more than 25 million people traveled in Alabama last year alone. With the increase in the number of vehicles on the road, comes an increase in the number of views on billboards. One of our local homegrown events, the Slocomb Tomato Festival, utilizes a mix of digital and rotary billboards to announce their event annually. A clean and consistent message is key. Their billboards can be seen on Hwy 231 South and Hwy 52 West in Dothan targeting locals and beach traffic. They also expanded into the Enterprise market to attract even more Coffee County residents to the festival this year. If you are in the Wiregrass this weekend, be sure to stop by the Slocomb Tomato Festival on Friday and Saturday to check out the karaoke contest, car show, The Kentucky Headhunters, and of course sample one of those juicy Slocomb tomatoes. The team at Durden Outdoor can help you reach over one million cars daily. Contact our sales team today about making your business or event FAMOUS in the Wiregrass.

‘Tis the Season for Giving

TEAM Durden has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We are extremely blessed with great customers and wonderful co-workers that we all consider family. This year, we chose the Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank’s “Stuff the Semi” food drive as a public service project. They will be collecting non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys, and monetary donations today at Southside Wal-Mart until 6:00 PM to feed families this holiday season. Whether it be a food drive, paying someone’s utility bill, or simply a kind gesture of “how can I help?” This Thanksgiving, we encourage you to give back to your community and bless someone who may be going through a tough time. “In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Stuff the Semi
