When Two Billboards Are Better Than One

The Vance Law Firm wanted to make a statement targeting traffic leaving Pike County, AL headed northbound to Montgomery County, AL and the FAMOUSMakers had the perfect solution to help reach their audience. Just north of Troy, AL we utilized two bulletins that are directly across the road from each other. After having this idea for some time, we knew we wanted the two billboards to work together to tell a visual story. Featuring an arm in a cast and telephone, we used the left-hand read billboard to ask the question, “Injured?” and point drivers across the street to the right-hand read billboard where Stewart Vance, Attorney & Owner, is showcased instructing drivers to “Dial 3 for Me.” Stewart Vance concentrates his practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and product liability. He represents those that have been injured in an automobile or other accidents; have suffered severe injuries or death from defective products; or who have had loved ones suffer from nursing home neglect and abuse. The Vance Law Firm has a team of attorneys ready to fight for you. Backed by the “V-Guarantee,” it’s no wonder The Vance Law Firm has been voted “Best Law Firm in Montgomery” for five years in a row. Billboards Increase Sales for Eufaula Restaurants

Recently, one of Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc.’s long time clients, River City Grill in Eufaula, Alabama, approached us about advertising a new pizza restaurant they were opening. Our creative department got to work and came up with a campaign that would feature River City Grill and what would become the new hotspot of Eufaula, Graffiti’s Pizza Joint. Both of these restaurants are located in beautiful Downtown Eufaula. After working through a couple of designs and tweaks, the creative was installed on three major artery bulletins, targeting northbound and southbound traffic into Eufaula on Hwy 431. The billboards not only served as top of the mind awareness but also as a directional for non-local traffic headed to Columbus and Atlanta or to the beaches. Stephanie Ryan, partner and marketing director of Graffiti’s, said they have seen a significant increase in traffic and sales since their billboards went up. “We receive compliments everyday,” stated Ryan.

If you are in the Eufaula area and have a craving for a fresh New York-style pizza, steak and shrimp or just a great sandwich, check out our friends at River City Grill & Graffiti’s Pizza Joint, where you are sure to leave full and happy.

Out-of-Home Most Effective Driving Online Activity

According to a recent OAAA article, Neilsen just released data that examined Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and search activation. The verdict? Out-of-Home was decidedly the best media channel for driving online activity per ad dollar spent. There were several components that Neilsen reviewed when collecting the data. They first reviewed the amount of consumer online activity each media channel generated. In the past six months, 46% of search was activated by outdoor advertising. Behind search, Facebook came in at 38%, 25% in Instagram and 23% in Twitter. The amount of ad spend share for each media channel verses the amount of online activation proved that Out-Of-Home returns four times the expected rate given its relative ad spend.

With specials changing weekly, Eagle Eye Outfitters is one of our many clients who use the Durden Digital Network to keep their ads fresh and up-to-date. “CAN’T TOUCH THIS” BILLBOARD FOR DOTHAN KIA

DOTHAN KIA_MC HAMMER_RCC Board You can’t touch this…. My-my-my-my Durden has done it again. Tasked with designing a billboard to turn heads, Durden looked towards the original rapping hamsters in the Kia commercials for inspiration and were led to another rapper of the human kind. We all remember the 1990’s hit single “U Can’t Touch This,” written, performed, and produced by MC Hammer, himself. This signature song of Hammer’s is possibly one of the most recognizable records ever… which happens to be the same thing Durden wants for Dothan Kia. The 2014 Kia Soul gets 31 mpg on the Highway and costs $13,995. What better way to advertise that then putting MC Hammer on top of a 14’ x 48’ billboard. Well it’s not actually MC Hammer. It is a mannequin made to look like him, dressed in a gold & black jumpsuit. Our Creative Department and Expediting Department worked together with Dothan Kia to create this beautiful 3D Billboard work of art. If you would like #TeamDurden to design your next out-of-home advertisement, please contact our sales department to get started. Durden Strategically Expands Digital Network

In April Durden Outdoor Displays added two digital billboard locations to its expanding digital network. These new locations are in two of Dothan, Alabama’s fastest growing traffic areas – U.S. Highway 231 South at Saunders Road and U.S. Highway 84 East at Ross Clark Circle. New Locations
“Our business is about posting great creative advertisements  in front of the maximum amount of targeted prospects,” says Bill Durden, vice president and creative director of Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc. “When we do this, we produce results for our clients.”
These two locations were strategically chosen because of their high increase in daily traffic over the past several years. The segment of Highway 231 South between Ross Clark Circle and Saunders Road has seen a healthy 16 percent increase in traffic over the past 11 years to 33,610 per day. During this same time period Highway 84 East at Ross Clark Circle has seen a steady 8 percent increase in daily traffic. This popular intersection now boasts over 64,000 cars per day according to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc. is a local, privately owned firm which expanded from traditional billboards to high-tech digital displays in 2007. Over the last seven years Durden’s digital network has expanded to 27 locations spanning four Southeast Alabama counties. This network reaches more than one million cars daily. Durden Outdoor is the largest out-of-home media provider in nine Southeast Alabama counties with over 1000 faces. Faith in OOH, article from OAAA

We found this article from OAAA interesting and thought we would share.  Let us know if you have any questions. According to a recent Gallup poll, 77 percent of Americans identify themselves as members of a Christian religion, and 69 percent identify themselves as moderately or very religious. However, the US Congregational Life Survey shows that churches have been experiencing a high rate of turnover in their membership. One in three respondents said they joined their congregation in the last five years, with 18 percent having joined in the previous two. The upcoming Lenten season and the approach of the Easter and Passover holidays will provide places of worship with an increased opportunity to draw in new members. The average American spends about 23 hours a week traveling outside the home, exposed to OOH advertising formats. That is nearly twice the hours spent listening to the radio and almost four times the hours spent reading a newspaper. The longer exposure time means OOH can be used with other media to amplify the reach of a media plan, with surveys showing a campaign using both OOH and radio can boost reach by 45 percent over a media plan using radio alone. OOH is an ideal medium for connecting with the increasingly mobile American population and can help churches and synagogues bring in new members during the holiday season.
