2013 Toadlick To Benefit Local & National Charities
DOTHAN, ALABAMA, December 14, 2012
Toadlick Music Festival has announced that a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to their second annual event will go to help benefit the Wiregrass Children’s Home, which serves seven counties in the Wiregrass area of Southeast Alabama, and the national Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
The Wiregrass Children’s Home offers a safe haven for neglected and abused children, providing food, clothing, shelter, and the loving support they so desperately need in the midst of crisis. Since its beginning in 1989, the Home has served more than 700 children—some for only one night, yet others for many years—all receiving a window of hope and a promise for a better tomorrow.
For more than 32 years, the Special Operations Warrior Foundation has provided surviving children of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps Special Operations Forces with the college education their fallen parents would have wanted for them. They also provide financial assistance and support to special operations personnel who are severely wounded.
“We are very proud to be associated with these two, very fine, non-profit organizations,” explains Chris Gilbert, Toadlick Music Festival Event Coordinator. “It gives us an opportunity to give back to our local community, as well as honor those who have served to defend our country and help the children many of them have left behind. And everyone who joins us at the Festival can share in the satisfaction that comes with helping those in need.”

Wiregrass Retailers Gear Up For 2012’s Top 7 Fall Holiday Shopping Days
The retail season is just around the corner, and now is the time to finalize marketing plans. Beginning with Columbus Day, October 8th, seven major retail shopping events line up to provide huge opportunities for local businesses . Retail revenue is forecast to be up 3.3% during the 2012 fourth quarter, and traffic counts are expected to increase by 2.8% according to ShopperTrak. That influx should offer retailers the opportunity to convert browsers into buyers.
Sales don’t magically happen on Black Friday; it is important to ramp up to this potential plateau to meet or even exceed your seasonal sales goals. ABC news reported a 5.4% gain in August 2012 over last year’s numbers. Historically, a positive back-to-school season means an equally robust holiday shopping season, but expect a lull during the period before Black Friday unless you take an aggressive advertising approach. Too many low-income consumers are strapped right now. They will spend for back-to-school and for the holidays, but for the remainder of the time, they’re very cautious about what they are buying. Experienced retailers know in order to capture those bucks, you must own the top-of-mind awareness position in the category. This means your brand is the first to mind when a consumer thinks of a product or service you offer. To maintain this status, businesses must remain diligent in their promotional efforts.

Media experts rely on a blitz & sustain strategy during times such as these to ensure advertising dollars are spent efficiently. This means you fish when the fish are biting. In more relevant terms, savvy advertisers should focus their spend on key shopping dates, but not go silent in between. In today’s high pressure sales environment, you must be out there or you could quickly become invisible.
The Durden Digital Network is perfectly designed to capture your target audience with a heavier display schedule on key dates and a lighter (but not silent) spot load in between. The team at Durden Outdoor have put together several packages to help you plan and focus your advertising in the coming months. Durden’s Kreative team provides excellent marketing and design support to all their clients. Make sure you are taking advantage of the upcoming high seasonal traffic.
You may think it is only September, but it is time to start putting together your Plan of Action. Preparing for the holiday shopping season is an annual ritual that can’t be ignored. The best advice is to start early and stay late – customers start holiday browsing earlier every year, but the decision to purchase may not come as soon as you expect. Music Festival Coming to Dothan
TOADLICK MUSIC FESTIVAL is a 3-day outdoor country music festival held at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds in Dothan, Alabama on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of March 2012. TOADLICK will feature some of the biggest names in Country Music performing on two stages throughout three fun-filled days and nights. General admission tickets are available for purchase online at toadlick.com. Trace Adkins, Sara Evans, Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, and Montgomery Gentry are just a few of the fifteen acts that will be performing on the two amphitheater stages. Not only is there music but there is camping…Camping spaces (full hook-up, partial hook-up, and primitive) will allow you to enjoy the complete TOADLICK experience.
Durden Outdoor is grateful to have had a first hand experience in helping this great event in coming to Dothan, Alabama. They are utilizing all three of the Durden advertising products: Rotary Poster, Bulletins, and our Digital Network. Bulletins are the largest, most impaction standard-size form of outdoor media. Located on highly visible locations, such as expressways and primary arteries, they offer advertisers exposure from heavy traffic patterns. Bulletins afford great visibility due not only to their size, but because they allow creative customizing through extensions and embellishments. A Rotary Poster program is one of the preferred methods used to penetrate the market and build strong brand saturation. Posters are purchased in increments called showings. Poster showings provide a broad, simultaneous market reach that can achieve instant market saturation and high frequency where your customers live, work, and play. Posters are extremely powerful for launching new product campaigns, time sensitive promotions, seasonal and special events (like TOADLICK Music Festival). Digital billboards are the billboards playing an on a large LED display. The display shows one specific ad for roughly 8 seconds before rotating to the next advertisement. The advertisements can be featured for both long term brand building marketing campaigns, and short “pulse advertising” to make a direct advertisement to promote an social event, sale, grand opening, or other event. Different ads can be displayed depending on many variables such as time of the day, month, weather, and more. TOADLICK will surely be FAMOUS before its all over. If you would like to be FAMOUS contact us today and become a part of the Durden Advertising Family.
