Out-of-Home Most Effective Driving Online Activity

According to a recent OAAA article, Neilsen just released data that examined Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and search activation. The verdict? Out-of-Home was decidedly the best media channel for driving online activity per ad dollar spent. There were several components that Neilsen reviewed when collecting the data. They first reviewed the amount of consumer online activity each media channel generated. In the past six months, 46% of search was activated by outdoor advertising. Behind search, Facebook came in at 38%, 25% in Instagram and 23% in Twitter. The amount of ad spend share for each media channel verses the amount of online activation proved that Out-Of-Home returns four times the expected rate given its relative ad spend.

“A Pleasant Surprise for Enterprise” Beautiful Billboard Promotes Downtown Boutique

serendipitybulletin Serendipity means a pleasant surprise or the luck of finding something you weren’t looking for. Serendipity by Kei Boutique means finding that one piece of clothing you weren’t even looking for, but is just the perfect thing to make your wardrobe. When Serendipity by Kei contacted Durden Outdoor to make them famous, we were beyond ecstatic to help promote their eclectic selection. We started with a conversation with Serendipity by Kei’s owner, Keisha, about her vision for her boutique, as well as their advertising goals. This was a very enlightening and inspiring step, as her energy was highly contagious and got our creative team motivated to design the best board we could. We then started brainstorming and sketching concept art, which we would send over to Keisha to discuss and review; this honed in and refined the message, as well as the design. After the concept was approved, we were able to set up a wonderful photo shoot with our photographer partner Mark Broadway, and Serendipity’s delightful model, Mary Holland. A fashion shoot like this one was great to be a part of, as we were open to have fun and show off all the great items Serendipity by Kei has to offer. Keisha’s passion for her store, her customers, her fashion, and her vision were major inspirations for our design. She worked with us every step of the way, sharing her wisdom about her store and her excitement about our concepts, designs, and final product. ICY BILLBOARD CATCHES MAJOR ATTENTION

In the South Alabama heat, it’s surprising to see icicles hanging from a billboard. Well here on the corner of Highway 84 West and Ross Clark Circle in Dothan you can see just that. This refreshingly cool addition was created for our client, Ashley Enfinger, for their promotion of Sears Hometown Store and Glacial Cryogenics. Ashley put it best when he said, “The billboard is great, and exactly what we needed to let people know about our businesses. Durden Outdoor is always coming up with a creative way to make us look good.” Our design team had quite a job on their hands to make a design that brought attention to both Sears and Glacial Cryogenics, and gave directions to both locations. For a bit of insider information, designers always say, “Less is more in outdoor.” Fortunately for the designers and the client, everyone was in agreement that we needed to stick with this philosophy and keep the design bold and simple, with just enough embellishment to make everything POP! That is where the icicles came in, deep from our team’s creative subconscious, likely wishing for a chilly reprieve from the near 100 degree weather this summer. These icicle additions add a cool feature (pun intended) to the billboard, drawing attention as they sway in the breeze. GOD SPEAKS BILLBOARDS SHOW UP ON DURDEN DIGITAL NETWORK

Interruption………….. An interruption is typically viewed as an unwelcome pause on progress. However, last week Durden Outdoor launched a Digital Campaign directed at doing just that. In light of months of societal unrest, we felt as if the Wiregrass needed an interruption. These “Signs from God” serve as a ray of hope designed to focus hurried, rush-hour thoughts on God in a creative and thought provoking way. The #FAMOUS MAKERS decided the best platform for this message was the Durden Digital Network. It is the largest digital billboard network in Southeast Alabama with 28+ boards. These boards reach over ONE MILLION+ cars daily in Dothan, Ozark, Enterprise, Eufaula, and Troy. Billboards Add Huge Increase To Dothan Hotel’s Bottom Line

In today’s world, many people pre-book their hotel rooms online for convenience.
However, there is still a large percentage who don’t.  The largest hotel in Dothan, AL decided to use billboards to entice this “last minute” group of travelers.  “Most hoteliers just use billboards for directionals.  We wanted to put ours to the test” says Hannah Shiver, GM of the Clarion Inn.

‘Tis the Season for Giving

TEAM Durden has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We are extremely blessed with great customers and wonderful co-workers that we all consider family. This year, we chose the Wiregrass Area United Way Food Bank’s “Stuff the Semi” food drive as a public service project. They will be collecting non-perishable food items, frozen turkeys, and monetary donations today at Southside Wal-Mart until 6:00 PM to feed families this holiday season. National Peanut Festival Reaches 180,000+

The nation’s largest peanut festival is held in Dothan, AL each fall to honor local peanut farmers and to celebrate the harvest season. The 71st annual National Peanut Festival will be held October 31st thru November 9th this year. DURDEN OUTDOOR BUILDS IT’S FIRST MOTORIZED TRUCK DOOR ON A BILLBOARD

IMG_0472Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc helped Action Buick GMC of Dothan roll out the red carpet for the new 2014 GMC Sierra. The Sierra is a cut above other trucks showcasing the new standard in truck interiors. Durden wanted to showcase this aspect of the 2014 Sierra by creating a billboard that entices you to look inside. Sierra’s cabin has been crafted to provide you and your passengers with a quality experience. Durden Outdoor and Action of Dothan invite you to open the door to a new Sierra and take her for a FREE test drive. Action of Dothan, located at 211 Ross Clarck Circle, came to Durden when they wanted an out-of-the-box design for their out-of –home advertising. This one-of-a-kind billboard design with a 35’ Sierra 1500 came directly from the Durden Outdoor Creative Department. Durden Strategically Expands Digital Network

In April Durden Outdoor Displays added two digital billboard locations to its expanding digital network. These new locations are in two of Dothan, Alabama’s fastest growing traffic areas – U.S. Highway 231 South at Saunders Road and U.S. Highway 84 East at Ross Clark Circle. New Locations
“Our business is about posting great creative advertisements  in front of the maximum amount of targeted prospects,” says Bill Durden, vice president and creative director of Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc. “When we do this, we produce results for our clients.”
These two locations were strategically chosen because of their high increase in daily traffic over the past several years. The segment of Highway 231 South between Ross Clark Circle and Saunders Road has seen a healthy 16 percent increase in traffic over the past 11 years to 33,610 per day. During this same time period Highway 84 East at Ross Clark Circle has seen a steady 8 percent increase in daily traffic. This popular intersection now boasts over 64,000 cars per day according to the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT). Durden Outdoor Displays, Inc. is a local, privately owned firm which expanded from traditional billboards to high-tech digital displays in 2007. Over the last seven years Durden’s digital network has expanded to 27 locations spanning four Southeast Alabama counties. This network reaches more than one million cars daily.
